Ocarina Vs Harp by Lethalityrush Ocarina Vs Harp by Lethalityrush
In Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask, you had to remember (or look up) songs to play on the ocarina. In Skyward Sword, Link's instrument was the Goddess's harp. How do you play it? Oh you just swing your arm back and forth with the wiimote... Zelda would be so proud! Happycry revamp

P.S. The harp is actually a lyre, and the tones produced by it will follow the harmonics of the background music in the location it's played (according to zeldawiki).

Which instrument did you like better?

Ocarina.

After a while, you'd just hit the notes at the same speed that the song played.

I own an ocarina and prefer it to the harp/lyre. (In the games, the ocarina requires more skill to play and you can play it whenever you want)

I used to try playing some themes on the Goddess Harp by holding "A" and moving the wiimote just a little...

Sure there isn't any memory involved in playing Skyward Sword's harp, but can still be a bit of a pain to try to match the rhythm of Fi's circle &/or the villagers' arms in the chandelier side quest.

Well, when it comes to the REAL instruments, I would be at a stalemate. I already own an Ocarina, and can play it quite well. However because I do NOT have a Lyre quite yet, I would be more disposed to leaning towards the Ocarina as my favorite. However, in OoT, all the melodies of the Ocarina are quite beautiful (And they are in SS as well) but if I had a Lyre, I wouldn't choose between the two, as it is not entirely the ease at which the instruments are played in-game, but the quality of sound produced and the ease of playing in real life.

It would have been amazing if that instrument came with specific notes you had to play rather than just swinging the wiimote back and forth, it would have made for a great mechanic.

I can see where they were going with this...just kind of wish they, you know, finished it up a bit...
